The Senate will Vote on the Transportation Funding Bill Today
We need a transportation system that works for everyone. We can’t continue to fund transit haphazardly. It’s time for our state legislature to have the courage to invest in a transportation system that will help our region prosper – today and tomorrow.
We are making progress, but it is urgent that you contact your Senator RIGHT AWAY. The Senate bill contains 80 percent of the ½ cent sales tax, 40 percent of the motor vehicles sales tax, and 50 percent of the motor vehicle sales tax on leased vehicles to transit.
We need a commitment from our Senators that this bill will be balanced and provide a dedicated funding increase for public transit that is proportionate to the funding increase for roads.

Dear Senator,
I urge your support for the transportation finance bill, S.F. 1986.
This bill is a good start in getting a balanced transportation package together. When the transportation finance bill reaches the floor for a vote, I support a YES vote.
To be truly balanced, increased funding for public transit must be proportionate to increased funding for roads. If there are opportunities to support increased funding for transit, I encourage your support for the full ½ cent of the metro sales tax for transit.
