Override the Governor's Veto on the Transportation Bill!

The Governor vetoed a bill with significant new funding for transit.
Governor Pawlenty has vetoed the Transportation Funding bill (HF2800, which includes significant new funding for transit). The Legislature will attempt to override the Governor's veto on Monday, February 25th.
An override of this veto requires 90 votes in the House and 45 votes in the Senate. We are very close, but need to encourage all legislators to vote "yes" on the override.
The Transportation Funding bill provides long-term, dedicated funding for transit. This funding would kick-start the building of a region-wide transit system and help secure matching federal funding for transit projects.
It would allow us to significantly increase bus service and build more park and rides. Although this bill is a compromise solution, it is a good step forward toward a 21st century transit system.

Please vote "YES" on the motion to override the veto of HF2800/SF2521.
This legislation will provide desperately needed funding to improve transit in Minnesota. We can't afford any more political gridlock.
Our elected officials' first loyalty is to Minnesota, and this bill will significantly improve Minnesota's quality of life. This bill creates a significant, dedicated source of funding for transit, which ultimately brings millions in federal funding to our state--money that is currently going to other states because we don't have a state match. We can't wait any longer for the transportation improvements we need today.
Please do the right thing and vote for better transit in Minnesota. We need it!
