Getting the transit message through!
You can take action on this alert by reading the information below and following the
directions at the bottom.

Background on Governor Pawlenty's veto
Minnesota families and communities need a transportation system that provides choices for both drivers and non-drivers; reduces pollution and oil dependency; and improves quality of life by building for the future. With his veto, and his aggressive cuts to transit, Governor Pawlenty has demonstrated that he is willing to risk not only $500 million in federal funds for Central Corridor, but also the momentum toward healthy communities and real transportation choices for Minnesotans.
Please take action below to tell Governor Pawlenty to bring back Central Corridor and get Minnesota's transportation system back on track.
AND: Please write a letter to the editor to help us tell people that the Governor's actions are damaging the future of our state: * Governor Pawlenty says he supports transit alternatives and wants to reduce the impact of global climate change, but instead denies resources to accomplish real change. * Elected officials in Minnesota demonstrated bipartisan support for transportation choices at the state, county, and city levels -- only to find that our Governor vetoed funds necessary to access federal resources and continue building for the future. * Record high transit usage shows that Minnesotans are ready for alternatives to high gas prices and hours spent sitting in traffic. Unfortunately, the Governor believes he knows better and used his veto pen to deny options to cities, counties, and citizens ready to move into the 21st century.

Bring back Central Corridor Dear Governor,
I am strongly disappointed in your lack of leadership for a transit system serving all Minnesotans. Your veto of bonding funds for Central Corridor flies in the face of the progress that has been made at city, state, and county levels by citizens and elected officials.
Please put Central Corridor back on the table for funding this year. Your name and address here
